"In psychiatry you have the great privilege of working with people on a very personal level as well as the academic stimulation that comes with complex predicaments and evolving research. I have always enjoyed both aspects and continue to love my work. "
Dr Jessica Kinder is a Consultant Psychiatrist and Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, with subspecialty expertise in Consultation Liaison Psychiatry. After graduating with First Class Honours from the University of Notre Dame's School of Medicine, she has developed particular expertise in women's health and the complex intersection of physical and mental healthcare. Dr Kinder
With a focus on sustainable, long-term wellness outcomes, Dr Kinder specialises in managing psychiatric aspects of complex neurological and medical conditions. Her practice philosophy centres on understanding the intricate relationship between mind and body, working collaboratively with patients and their healthcare teams to develop comprehensive, evidence-based treatment plans.
Dr Kinder brings a methodical approach to untangling complex clinical presentations, ensuring each patient receives individualised care that addresses their unique circumstances, an approach she refined during her time at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, NSW. She works closely with both patients and their care teams to create clear treatment pathways forward, with expertise spanning women's mental health, consultation liaison psychiatry, complex medical-psychiatric care, and evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
