Integrated
ADHD Assessment
This dedicated service aims to make the journey of assessing ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) much smoother for you.
We understand the challenges you are facing in accessing timely and comprehensive ADHD assessments, from sourcing appointments to navigating referrals. Our clinic aims to alleviate this burden by offering a coordinated and efficient pathway to assessment, potential diagnosis and treatment.
ADHD assessment is serious healthcare, not a trending topic.
Your health matters. It deserves the same careful, thoughtful, human approach we bring to every aspect of your health. We are seeing firsthand the real impact of rushed evaluations and misdiagnosis.
It's simply not an option we believe anyone should face.
Getting it right from the start matters – an accurate diagnosis through comprehensive evaluation ensures you receive the most effective support for your unique needs. Together, we'll create a treatment plan that's uniquely yours and fits into your broader health journey.
Because when ADHD care is done thoughtfully from the start, it becomes the foundation for everything you want to accomplish. This is about you thriving.

No need to address it to a specific doctor; our team will review it and match you with the right psychiatrist best suited to your needs.
We review referrals every Monday and Thursday at 5:30 PM, and you’ll hear from us with care and clarity by Tuesday or Friday. Save our number (02 7201 0015) so when we call, you’ll know it’s us reaching out.
Our GPs and Psychiatrists aren't part of a call centre operation.
They have extensive experience across Australia's public and private health systems. They understand the complexities of mental health care because they've practised at every level.
Why choose Ponti Health’s ADHD Clinic?
-
We offer a truly holistic approach. Your GP and psychiatrist work together under one roof, and they're also part of a larger multidisciplinary team. This means our doctors can lean on their peers' diverse knowledge and expertise, constantly bolstering their understanding to support you best. If there's a need for specialised care beyond what we offer, we work closely with trusted external specialists and will always help you connect with the right experts.
-
Our streamlined process removes the stress of finding specialist appointments.
-
We are not fans of waitlists, and don't believe anyone should wait. We work hard at making this as timely as possible.
Why proper ADHD assessment matters for your health
ADHD assessment isn't a trend - it's serious medical care that deserves serious medical attention.
-
In Australia, only Psychiatrists are qualified to diagnose and prescribe medication for ADHD - this is a legal requirement, not a choice.
We've been concerned to hear from patients who've attended standalone ADHD assessment clinics, paying $1,000+ for evaluations, only to discover that these assessments cannot result in a diagnosis or medication prescription. These patients then require referral to a Psychiatrist anyway, essentially paying twice for their ADHD care.
-
A responsible ADHD evaluation requires time and thoroughness. Any competent practitioner needs multiple consultations (typically 2-3), ECGs, blood tests, and a comprehensive assessment to reach an accurate diagnosis. This isn't bureaucratic red tape - it's essential patient safety.
-
ADHD medications carry significant risks when prescribed inappropriately and can cause lifelong complications if misused. More importantly, misdiagnosis means missing what's actually happening. What if your symptoms stem from anxiety, depression, or another treatable condition rather than ADHD? Wouldn't you rather understand what truly needs support?
-
At Ponti Health, our Psychiatrists take the time needed for proper assessment. We believe in getting it right the first time - for your safety, your wellbeing, and your long-term health outcomes.

This journey starts with your GP, then a Psychiatrist, Paediatrician or Neurologist. GPs will soon be able to do this in Australia.
-
Psychiatrists, paediatricians and neurologists primarily handle ADHD diagnosis and medication management. Recent reforms are empowering GPs to play a larger role. Training programs are being implemented to equip GPs with the necessary skills to diagnose and manage conditions effectively.
This information is up to date as of August 15, 2025.

This varies from clinic to clinic. Some places charge a specific fee for a particular diagnosis. We are not fans of this approach, as it assumes a diagnosis before even having the first consultation with a medical expert. The diagnosis and subsequent medication require consideration and time. It is not something to be taken lightly.
This is not a fad; the medication requires qualifications and experience.

It's a neurodevelopmental disorder, which means it affects how your brain develops. Symptoms begin before age 12 and include fidgeting, difficulty paying attention and losing things.

At Ponti Health, there aretwo2 pathways:
You can send us your referral from your GP for our Psychiatry rooms. It takes between 2 and 4 appointments on average for a diagnosis. This is merely a guideline and is dependent on individual needs.
You can come in for a fresh assessment with our GPs, which means expedited access and preferential rates for Psychiatry appointments. We do this because our GPs are mental health trained and get to work very closely with our Psychiatry team. It’s beyond the hallway chat; we have formalised Multi-Disciplinary Peer reviews at Ponti, where doctors come together to discuss and learn about patients’ unique cases.

As of August 16, 25 not as yet. But the government is looking to change this.
